I am trying to back up my phone on to my computer. I used to be able to do this with no problem until i updated to MacOS Catalina. All of my devices are updated. My Macbook can read my iPhone, but when I go into Finder and click on my phone I get a message saying 'If you are experiencing problems with your iPhone, you can restore its original settings by clicking Restore iPhone.'

Before I updated to MacOS Catalina I deleted all of my old backups by accident, so I have no idea what it is trying to restore to. I don't use iCloud either for backups.

Wait while your computer downloads the software for your device. If the download takes more than 15 minutes and your device exits the recovery mode screen, let the download finish, then repeat step 3.
- After the Update or Restore completes, set up your device.
