Rahul was addressing the Youth Wing of Congress and mentioned that “Scindia would have become the CM had he stayed with Congress but he has become a backbencher in the BJP”.

He further added, “Scindia had the option to strengthen the organization by working with Congress workers. I told him – One day you will become the Chief Minister. But he chose another route. Write it down, he will never become Chief Minister there. He will have to come back here for that.'

Last year, Scindia left everyone shocked after he quit Congress and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. His supporters cried foul over him being sidelined in the MP unit of Congress previously and backed his decision.

Meanwhile, Rahul’s backbencher comment has become a meme material for everyone on the internet now.

Some people were of the opinion that Scindia and previously, his father posed a threat for the Congress party and were hence sidelined after their talent was actually feared, rather than being appreciated .

What is the guarantee that Jyotiraditya #Scindia & Sachin Pilot not met the same fate their fathers had met when they are going to lead the country nationally 2004 onwards.

And some were convinced that this is yet another stand-up comedy stint from Mr Gandhi.

Dear Rahul Gandhi,

Can you please give me details of your next comedy stand up. I missed lot of your Tamil Nadu edition jokes.

We also want to see trailer of your West Bengal trip.

My favorite joke is that he says he wants to run for PM post.

He is a real comedian. Sachin Pilot's hair has become white, waiting for CM post and he coolly says Scindia would have become CM without Congress being in power in MP.

Some folks were even imagining what Sachin Pilot would say after listening to Rahul Gandhi’s statement.

While some people tried to hunt for the hidden Narendra Modi link, others wondered if he was hinting at strained relations with the US with all these countries or the dictatorial regimes most of them suffered.

Critics slammed him for vague quizzing and even flooded his timeline with Pappu jokes. Thousands of Congress supporters blindly chose to like and re-tweet instead of engaging in guesswork.

While he avoided directly dragging Modi in this discourse, his arguments about people suffering because of divisive politics subtly indicated his tweets were not completely delinked from domestic politics.
